Slide guitar. Cuz it’s freaking hot to see a blueswoman on stage tearin’ it up with a slide guitar. Barring that, I could probably get the hang of a cowbell. You can never have too much cowbell, after all.
I would want to master the acoustic guitar. Some my favorite role models are singer songwriters. I have always wanted to learn it.
It would have to be the trombone – I’ve been trying for 35 years now, I might just get the hang of it one of these days!!! LOL!
as a musician, i wish that i could master the drumset. i started on piano, then added clarinet in junior high, sax in high school (and brass), guitar at a summer program for gifted students, and percussion in college (vibraphone, marimba, steel pan, and timpani), but i couldn’t ever get the feet part and the arm part coordinated. i bow down to rick allen (def leppard’s one-armed drummer)! also, i wish i could flutter tongue or triple tongue. i can get a decent double tongue on brass, but reed instruments cause me trouble with tonguing…
The cello. The depths of it’s sound touchs places deep inside me like no other instrument.
I started playing the drums when I was 7 and I still play today! At 47 I still long to learn to play the piano but I have been told numerous time my hands are too small. I don’t know if this is true, but it has stuck in my head and I don’t see myself becoming the dyke version of Elton John any time soon
