Don't Get Me Started
The first 15 minutes of Jon Stewart have saved what's left of my political mind many a night. I watch and I sleep a little better. So I was excited to watch Stewart emcee Comedy Central's "Night of Too Many Comics". Wrongo bongo. There were only two women comics - Amy Sedaris and Amy Poehlert - both allowed to sit pretty at the phone banks and both misidentified. The only other woman was Kristin Chenoweth, a fabulous Broadway singer and comic actress who did a number with the insufferable Martin Short. She sang about three bars, he clocked her, she fell to the stage and stayed there for the rest of the bit. It should have been called "Night of Too Many White Male Comics". I couldn't sleep that night.
The next morning I read Bob Herbert's wonderful column, "Why Aren't We Shocked?" in the New York Times, "Degrading women is the rule, not the exception." For days the press is agog and aghast about a Florida representative's inappropriate advances to Senate pages and practically yawns through men's new open season of rounding up schoolgirls and shooting them down. There's only one woman on the Supreme Court. If you look at the sports pages, no women ever play sports. According to the obit page, not many women even seem to die. "Boy crisis"? my feminist ass. Wars everywhere, nuclear threat unleashed, environment deteriorating. If this is the best that guys can do, then it's time for them to get out of the way. The only reason Hillary Clinton could not get elected in this country is sexism. Pure and simple. I tell people I'm for Hillary. Then I like to bust their craven, unquestioned sexist chops. Try it. Mae West's said it best, "Most men want to protect me. Can't figure out from what." Challenge the dominant paradigm. Get hysterical. You'll feel better.

I attend women as they give birth. I see how incredibly strong and brave they are as they endure hours and days of extreme pain and their bodies are ripped and torn. The men, if they are even present or involved, are bearly able to look, most of the time. Then, they balk at having a vasectomy...'too painful' they say. Wives are working full time, caring for the children, their parents, their in-laws, and they still do most of the work in the home. Women are obviously the stronger of the species...but because they have tradionally been tethered to the home and children, men have been able to, literally, take over the world. Now, we have to instigate a gender coup!!
Stop the teens from getting pregnant and forgoing their education. Keep abortions legal and easily obtainable. Let the boys be the babysitters and get the women out into politics and science.

There are many people who are so terrified of the democrats not winning the presidency in 2008 they say they can't support Hillary because she's too "polarizing" to win. Drives me crazy. Barack Obama, simply because he is black, is probably polarizing. The factor that makes Hillary seem unelectable in a tight race is simply that she is a woman. I'm with you, though. I support her all the way.

We have seen how well these "men" protect us. Let's attack a country that was never a threat to us, kill their women and children and leave North Korea and Iran alone while they formulate "nukular" weapons". Thanks Spanky, you've done enough protecting for now. It's time to leave it to the professionals, the Democrats and the lesbians. Hey, better yet...the Democratic lesbians. Everyone wins!!!

Actually, I'm pretty sure Hillary couldn't get elected because she's anti-gay and pro-censorship.
And because she's so stupid that she's still married to a man who has diddled at least three of his secretaries.
It has nothing to do with sexism.
