Holiday Greetings from Kate!
Am off the road for a few glorious weeks and of course am using the time wisely - following war news [We've Got a Strategery], watching multiple Papal Bioprics, gearing up for the 25th Anniversary tour and planning my annual Winter Solstice Lesbian Pot Luck.
Since I personally find it difficult to celebrate the birth of boy around whom mischief will be made for the next 2005 years, I like to celebrate the longest night of the year, [very important for lesbians] and the turn toward the light. It's my favorite.
Some of my professional lesbian friends - not to be confused with the amateur lesbians - those dames with the big jobs, were at first a bit nervous about a lesbian potluck. I reassured them it's not too woo-woo.
I invite the gals, assign them a food dish and make a giant ten pound vegetarian lasagna with meat sauce on the side. We eat for hours, and since gossip is a life-force, we do that. Last year we also talked about nano-technology, bronze sculpting and monogamy. Although it is annoying for the gals trying to get food into their mouths, I go around and hug all my friends, or just sit very very close to them. Sure there is spillage, but it's worth it.
It's been a heckuva year. When I cherish my friends at this year's Solstice Pot Luck, I will include all of you. If you feel a phantom squeeze on December 21st, don't be afraid. Clutch your nog. It's me. Happy Solstice.
